Guide to UV Measurement
Why Measure Energy?
As a measure of exposure in process design and optimization, energy is not very useful, because it is the combination of two independent variables, irradiance and time. For cure specifications and the ability to duplicate a process, reporting the two variables is more useful.
However, when the specifications for exposure (spectral distribution and irradiance profile) are defined, energy can be used to verify that the limits of the combined requirements are met
In short, energy is not a primary specification, but can be useful in monitoring.
